No 1. Maharashtra
On Saturday, Maharashtra reported 55,411 new cases, taking the total number of cases in the state to 3,343,951. The total number of active cases in the state is now 536,682, with Pune leading the way with 102,115 active cases, followed by Mumbai with 89,707.
Pune and Nagpur have run out of ventilators due to the surge. Relatives of Covid-19 patients staged a dharna, demanding Remde Sivir injections for the sick. Remdesivir has also been reported to be sold in Pimpri-black Chinchwad’s markets.
The state government has set up control rooms in each district to track the selling of this life-saving injection. As cases continue to grow, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar assured the Maharashtra government that 1121 ventilators would be sent to the state in the next 3-4 days.
No 2. Chhattisgarh
Owing to a shortage of doses, the vaccination drive in Chhattisgarh, which has seen an increase in cases, has come to a halt. Bhupesh Baghel, the state’s chief minister, said that the state only has enough vaccines to last two days on Saturday.
Baghel said, “We’ve asked the central government to provide vaccine doses for seven days so that the vaccination campaign can go smoothly.” The state of Chhattisgarh declared 11,447 cases of Covid-19 on Saturday.
No 3. Uttar Pradesh
On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh recorded 12,787 new cases of Covid-19, the largest single-day increase since the pandemic began. Yogi Adityanath, the state’s chief minister, convened a meeting to assess the state’s Covid-19 condition.
Noida, Allahabad, Meerut, Bareilly, and Ghaziabad have all enforced night curfews. The number of people allowed into religious buildings has also been limited to five at a time.

On Saturday, Delhi recorded 7,897 new cases of Covid-19, a drop below the 8,000-case level as testing rates fell in the national capital. On Saturday, the city performed 77,374 tests, compared to an average of 89,334 tests a day over the previous seven days.

Kerala reported 6,194 positive Covid-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 11,60,204. One hundred and seventy-one of the new cases came from outside the state, while the remainder were infected by communication.
No 8. Madhya Pradesh
On Saturday, Madhya Pradesh announced 4,882 new cases. On Saturday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told reporters that the state’s active caseload could top 1 lakh by the end of the month.
